this is my 1st time with the SK Hypersonic iron shaft in R/S flex. Are there trimming instructions for R vs S flex?
Question by: ROBERT LEIGHTON on Sep 24, 2020, 7:02 AM
Yes, there are trimming instructions for each flex. If you are on the product page, you can look down at the specification box and you can hyperlink to the correct flex. For R-flex it is chart IH7 shown here: https://www.hirekogolf.com/trimming-charts#R:_IH7

For S-flex, scroll down to trim chart IH10.

WHAT SHAT DIAMETER DO HYBRIDS USE ?
Question by: frank cannizzaro on Oct 6, 2020, 10:35 AM
Unfortunately there is no universal answer for that. All Hireko's hybrids require a 0.370" parallel tip shafts. But if you look across the industry you may run into 0.355" taper tip and 0.335" tip diameters as well.

Are the SK Fiber Hypersonic iron shafts counterbalanced as well?
Question by: Kenny Ray on Mar 16, 2021, 10:37 AM
Not to the extent of the wood shafts. Iron heads usually do not come with weight ports for added weight or consumers don't want extended lengths over and beyond what is customary in a graphite iron set.

I am not familiar with the Hypersonic brand of shafts. Have you had good success with them?
Question by: Richard Dutcher on Mar 16, 2022, 12:31 PM
The SK Fiber brand (formerly Fiber X) has served custom clubmakers since the early '90's. While not a household name, they have been proven to make very good shafts that are affordable with tight tolerances.

Has Hireko published DSFI and Deflection numbers for the current SK Fiber shafts? Reading through the DSFI shaft fitting addendum on Hireko's website, I can only find older SK Fiber shafts.

Question by: David S on Jun 24, 2022, 11:28 PM
We haven't updated the DSFI addendum since 2019. We actually have a different tool we use to measure the stiffness of a shaft that wasn't available when we first started the DSFI and haven't had a chance to share that with customers.

I am looking to put a shaft in my clubs that is between regular and senior. Should I cut less off a regular flex shaft ,or more on the senior flex shaft?
Question by: Chris on Mar 5, 2024, 1:41 PM
You are best off trimming less off a regular flex for a couple reasons. First, you are limited in parallel tip length. Second, depending on the length you want, there is a possibility you might need shaft extenders.

All Hireko's hybrids require a 0.370" parallel tip shafts, can i sand the tip to fit .355?
Question by: Dino on Apr 29, 2024, 6:35 AM
Correct, all of Hireko's hybrids, irons and wedges require a 0.370" shaft. We did write an article about sanding the tip to accommodate a taper tip hosel. You can read it here: https://www.hirekogolf.com/blog/post/can-you-sand-a-370-graphite-shaft-to-fit-a-355-taper-tip-hosel
