I have also seen the chart showing a 4” tip trim.

For a driver, there is no tip trimming, but for fairway woods, there will be some tip trimming. If you scroll down on this product page, go to the specifications and click on the blue Trim Code on the right side to view the recommended tip trimming. The 4" would indicate the parallel tip section or how long the shaft remains 0.335" from the tip.
