Product Questions

do you have to tip the A/L shafts or are they ready to use as is no sanding.
Question by: skel on Apr 28, 2014, 7:26 AM
skel,

They are designed to be tip trimmed and then abraded. To see how much to tip trim, click on the Specifications tab. On the far right is a column for Trim Code. Click on the flex you want and a pop up screen will appear showing how much to tip trim for each iron.

When using the shaft with the Acer XF Thriver, should I tip 2" as for a driver or 2 1/2" as a 3 wood? Am planning to use it primarily as a driver and want to maintain an A flex. Thanks.
Question by: NCDumDum on Aug 4, 2014, 1:09 PM
We would recommend the extra 1/2" tip trimming to compensate for the extra head weight.

what is the tip trim on on the acer velocity black graphite wood shaft.....stiff and and regular
Question by: brian on Apr 6, 2013, 11:28 AM
Brian:

It is trim chart W4 and trim note E for R flex and trim chart W8 and trim note E. The chart can be found on the inside back covers of the 2013 catalog or at the following link:

what are mesrement for acer velocity a/l tip trimming
Question by: sam on Mar 28, 2016, 1:31 PM
Sam,

Above the description there are a series of tabs. Click on the one that says "SPECIFICATIONS". On the far right you will see trim code. For instance, if you want an iron for A-flex (senior), it will be the 3rd code listed. Then click on A: IH10 and a pop up box will occur with the recommended tip trimming. Then butt trim to your final length.

I plan on building a 3 5 7 wood using the Acer xs fairway woods what shaft would you recommend I want to use Acer velocity in a r flex, thank you
Question by: lewis on Sep 11, 2016, 8:17 AM
Lewis,

Of the 4 options on that page, you would want the one listed as Wood R/S if you wanted that shaft in R-flex and use trim chart W4 for tip trimming.

Now if you are asking what shaft would we recommend, then that is impossible to answer without knowing how you swing a club, what shaft(s) you have hit well in the past, etc.
Answer by: Richard Lin on Sep 12, 2016, 8:09 AM
Please confirm the following tip trimming lengths for Senior Flex (code IH10) for ACER shaft GS10065-001-IAL: 6 Iron Hybrid- 2.25", 7 Iron Hybrid - 2.5", 8 Iron Hybrid - 2.75"
9 Iron Hybrid - 3.0" and PW Hybrid - 3.0".

Thanks
Question by: RICK LEWIS on May 31, 2017, 2:35 PM
Rick,

If these are going into our Acer XDS React hybrids, then that would be correct. If not, you'll need to let me know what models they are going into.

Hello Jeff:
Hello:

I am currently using a mid flex 70 gram graphite shaft in my 2 - GW. iron heads. This the first graphite shaft that i have played in my irons. I switched to graphite because of a wrist injury that cannot heal. This shaft does not have much feel to it. I am looking for a shaft with more feel while still giving me good shock absorption. I am quite familiar with playing characteristics of steel shafts, but graphite shafts with scores of types available are quite another animal.

I am almost 70 years old but A flex is soft for me, my swing tempo requires a somewhat soft Regular flex. My swing gets too quick with Ultralight shafts. So I am looking for somewhat heavier weight shaft with mid high ball flight, although a medium weight shaft with more feel in the butt would likely also work. I remember the Dynamic Graphite of mid 90s shaft, which had an excellent feel to it.
Anyway, what would be your recommendation.

Thank you.

Question by: Randip on Aug 7, 2017, 12:44 PM
Randip,

If you are looking for a heavier graphite shaft with a mid or medium-high ball flight that would be more like a soft regular, you could look at the SK Fiber Tour Trac 75 and use the less aggressive tip trimming method. Typically the firmer the tip, the less feel you will have.

I am building a Hybrid for my Grandson. Velocity Stiff Flex, using an Acer SR1 LH #3 head. Do I pick from the Iron or the wood shaft?
Question by: Michael Russell on May 11, 2024, 10:44 AM
Please use the one listed as an iron shaft.
Answer by: Jeff Summitt (Admin) on May 12, 2024, 4:50 AM
The description for all of your ACER Velocity wood shafts is the same. The specifications for weight, torque, and ball flight are all the same. So what distinguishes one from the other with regards to performance or are they all interchangeable? Thanks
Question by: Rick on May 29, 2024, 3:19 PM
They are all interchangeable. The only difference is the colorway options.
Answer by: Jeff Summitt (Admin) on May 30, 2024, 5:41 AM
Can it be used without trimming to make a LL (light lady) flex for senior lady ? I am looking for lighter lady flex. Thanks.
Question by: Dan C on Aug 20, 2024, 4:53 PM
Hi Dan,

Yes, if you take 1" less off the tip than what is recommended, you could effectively create a LL flex.

    Wow!
Purchased a cheap set of dynacraft prophet muscle blade with these shafts in regular flex. I hit a high ball and was eying up replacement shafts before the irons were delivered to me. Upon trying them all I can say is wow, flight is fantastic, in the 6i I hit penetrating bullets, got a mate to try them and he was gobsmacked too given he games a set of irons with UST Recoil shafts, dispersion is superb, No matter what I do, I can't seem to overload the shafts at all. total bargain, paired with the Dynacraft Prophet Muscleblade they have kicked a set of Ping i500 out of the bag.
