I am ready to order the acer blue velocity and I want to confirm that the tip is .335. How do I do that?
Question by: Barnie Guest on Apr 22, 2013, 12:14 PM
Barnie,

The wood shaft only comes in a 0.335" version. The irons are 0.370". The best way to check is to click on the specification tab located below if you scroll down.

I bought an xs driver head and a velosity orange shaft it said tip trim 1 in for reg and an inch less for xs heads so do I not tip trim the shaft
Question by: barry morris on Jul 16, 2014, 6:29 PM
Barry,

If you purchased the standard Acer XS or XS Draw driver, then you would tip trim 1" for regular flex. The special trim note to take 1" less applies only if you had purchased the Acer XS Leggera or special lightweight driver head.

#1 I'm an 83 year old / 22.2 index----swing speed with the 5 iron (TT lite R flex) is currently under 60. Is the Acer velocity graphite or the TT Multi-step my best bet for new set I'm going to build. (Acer XS HT Irons)

#2 I have Impex Hybrids that could be re-shafted but they show more loft than the new XF draws---please advise.

Thanks-----Dick

Dick,

It all depends upon your tempo and length of swing. If you have a long fluid swing, then lighter and more flexible is advisable like the Velocity. But if it is shorter and quicker then a heavier shaft like the Multi-Step Lite might be better for control.

Hybrids today will have lower centers of gravity than the older hybrids and the justification for lower lofts. As long as you are using a 0.370" shaft you can re-shaft the Impex.

Want to build a #2,#3,#4,and pw using the acer velocity shaft @ 69gr and 0.370 with the power play select 5000 hybrid iron.Just to make sure of the tip trimming....R:ih7 for regular flex...#2-0.25,#3-0.5,#4-0.75,and pw -2".Am I correct? Thanks

Currently have a#1 using an acculite 85 steel but would like a graphite shaft.Any suggestions?

John,

What you have listed for tip trimming each club is correct. As far as a matching graphite shaft to the Acculite 85, I might suggest a Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue.

Which is senior flex ?
Question by: David Fatula on Sep 26, 2023, 3:05 PM
Senior flex are the ones that are labeled as A/L. The A stands for amateur or what is more commonly known as senior flex today. The L is for ladies flex, as this is a combination flex shaft than can be either senior or ladies flex depending upon how it is tip trimmed.
