The Acculite 75 represents the latest in sub ultra-lightweight technology. This is a full 10 grams lighter than the Acculite 85 and geared more toward those who have a smoother tempo to produce the greatest club head speed possible with a steel shaft. The Acculite 75 is the perfect alternative to graphite in terms of weight, yet produces the consistency long associated with steel shafts.

Product Questions

Can I trim the tip less than standard and make the R flex an M or Senior flex?
Question by: Harry on Apr 29, 2013, 6:13 AM
Harry,

Yes you could, but you may find that these shaft run softer than any other R-flex on the market. I might suggest shafting your longest iron first. If it is too stiff, you can take it out (of let's say a 4-iron) and put it in 5 iron or 6 iron which is essentially taking less off of the tip.

I've been reading the reviews on these. Seems as though they play just a touch soft and guys are trimming them just a bit stiffer than recommended. If I am looking for a standard Regular flex shaft, would the stiff shaft trimmed to specs play about the same as a standard regular flex?

Thanks.
Question by: Mike Bowen on Mar 10, 2015, 3:43 PM
Mike,

One must realize when a shaft is this lightweight, there is less material to resist deflection so they will naturally be more flexible and higher launching than their heavier counterparts. If you look at frequency alone, then yes, the S-flex would be closer to some other lightweight R-flex shafts.
Answer by: Richard Lin on Mar 11, 2015, 3:03 PM
With the Acculite 75 S-flex shafts, if I tip trim an extra 1.5" in addition to 1H18 recommendations, will I end up close to same as R-flex or soft R-subflex Apollo stepped standard shaft? For example, if I tip trim a 40" Acculite shaft 2.5" for a 4 iron I want about 38.5" overall length, will I end up with a flex close to R-flexed or soft R-flex Apollo stepped standard shaft? I understand shaft will still launch high. I want to use up some Acculite 75 S-flex shafts I now have!

Thanks,

Mac

Mac,

You will increase the frequency close to 10 cpm. Will it have the same frequency as Standard Stepped R-flex? No, but it will make it stiffer and slightly lower launching than trimming as normal.

Can this shaft be trimmed to make the tip stiffer and reduce shot height?
Question by: Captain Hook on Feb 5, 2013, 5:01 PM
Captain Hook,

There is ample parallel tip length to trim additionally - assuming you have enough on the other end for your target length. However, the amount of additional trimming will only slightly reduce ball flight as the shaft is a very high launching shaft.

Hi there, I want to build a hybrid/iron set with the Acculite 75, Acculite 85, and Spectre Lite shafts between regular and stiff flex. Easy enough to trim the Spectre that way since it's a combo flex shaft, but how would I achieve a similar "half" flex with the Acculite 75 and 85 shafts? The 75 plays soft to flex, so should I trim the 75 stiff shaft as instructed for the 3-4-5 hybrids or should I softstep still? Not sure if the 85 also plays soft to flex, so should I softstep the 85 stiff shaft once or twice to achieve a "half" flex or trim as instructed for the 6-7-8 irons? Any insight is appreciated. Sorry if this is an overly technical question, thank you in advance!
Question by: Pablo on Jan 13, 2021, 12:19 AM
If you are trying to use these 3 shafts for a set, you will find they will not be matched no matter how you try to trim the shafts. The Acculite 75 is very flexible because the walls are so thin in order make a shaft that light. The Acculite 85 is only 10g lighter, but substantially stiffer due to the tip construction as the shaft starts tapering before the first step. If you wanted to make the Acculite 85 S-flex play between R and S you can tip trim 1" less than called for. The Spectre Lite is a very firm shaft for it's weight class and will be 20g heavier than the Acculite 85 at the same length.

When do you expect the Acculite 75 shafts to be in stock?

Thanks
