using shaft with prophet irons and acer xs hybrids. Hybrids will be replacing 3 and 4 iron. Would I use the shaft trim code for the 3 and 4 irons?

Thanks!
Question by: Greg on Aug 24, 2016, 9:13 AM
Greg,

In this case, correct as the XS hybrids weigh the same as the corresponding iron number.

If i were to use this shaft on a power play 5000 5h, are trimming instructions for the butt end, tip, or combination?
Question by: Mark on Dec 4, 2016, 6:42 AM
Mark,

You will be trimming off each end. For R-flex you would tip trim 1.5" and for S-flex you would tip 3.5". Then you would cut the butt end to your desired length.

How do these shafts compare to the True Temper 105s300 shafts?
Question by: Bob Woodrick on Dec 12, 2016, 11:41 AM
Bob,

The Acculite 95 will be @ 6 grams lighter for starters, plus not as stiff in the tip section.. The Acculite 95 is only available in parallel tip while the XP 105 is taper tip.

What would the trimming recommendation be to reshaft my 1996 Big Bertha (bore thru) be to maintain a regular flex? Would it be the same for the Phantom?
Question by: Stephen on Apr 22, 2017, 10:09 AM
Stephen,

For R-flex in a normal head the recommended tip trimming is found on the following chart:
http://www.hirekogolf.com/sendMsgs/trimInstruction.php?code=IH18&note=undefined

If you are installing these into a thru bore design, take 1" less off the tip to adjust for the deeper bore. The Phantom is the same.

I used Apollo standard steel shafts to build a set of Pinhawk SL 4-pw and I find the flights on the 4-5 irons too low. Would this be a good shaft to get a higher ball flight for those clubs?
Question by: Jim on Jun 19, 2017, 7:40 AM
Jim,

Probably the better shaft to launch the ball higher would be the Shadow, although the Acculite 95 would help some.

How does the this shaft trimmed to S compare in flex to a Dynamic Gold S300? I know the DG it tip stiffer, but what about the over all feel of the flex? I like the kick and droop of the S300 but want lighter and cheaper for my next set of irons.
Question by: Jab on Oct 1, 2024, 3:15 PM
Because this shaft is 20 grams lighter, the S-flex in the Acculite 95 will not be as stiff as the Dynamic Gold Gold S300. In the Apollo line, the better choice would be the Spectre Lite as it will be closer to the frequency of the S300, albeit lighter.

Wish I could edit my earlier question. I failed to mention I was wondering how this would compare to the DG 95 S300. I’ve heard this lighter weight DG is not in the same stiffness category as the regular weight S300 shafts. But it’s what a fitter put me into and results looked good enough to try out. But a this Apollo, or other less expensive brand, is what I need.
Question by: Jab on Oct 4, 2024, 9:31 AM
If you make the walls thinner to reduce weight, you end up with a more flexible shaft. There are few exceptions unless there are drastic changes to the geometry to the shaft (shorter parallel tip sections and increasing tapering rate). The Acculite 95 would have similar characteristics to the DG 95.

Maybe because I’m viewing this on an iPhone, but I can’t find the length specified anywhere on this page?
Question by: Jab on Dec 19, 2024, 6:43 PM
The Apollo Acculite 95 is 42" long.
