It is a new golf season and maybe a reason to think about buying new golf gear. However, if you are wondering how much do golf clubs cost in 2022, here is the average price of the most popular clubs on the market. Expect the price of an adjustable driver to be over $500, a single fairway wood at $299, a hybrid at $249, irons and wedges at $140 each and let's not forget about a $250 putter. Add all that up and you are looking at over $2860 for how much a set of golf clubs could cost. This does not even factor in the cost of a golf bag, or consumables like golf balls, golf gloves and tees. Do you have sticker shock now? Luckily, the cost of golf clubs does not have to be that expensive as we will explain later.
What Is Causing Golf Club Prices to Rise Today?
The Pandemic
We can’t talk about what’s happening today without talking about COVID. The Pandemic resulted in, among other things, an unprecedented boom in consumer sales. Online retailers such as Amazon recorded record sales and profits during the pandemic. Many types of retail stores, once re-opened, also recorded record sales. Golf greatly benefited, as it was one of the few recreational activities that could be done socially distanced. At the same time, however, foundries trying to produce these goods were faced with work disruptions due to periodic COVID shutdowns and energy shortages.

5 Tip on How to Play Golf in the Cold
Golf is a great sport because it can be enjoyed year-round. However, if you live in the northern climes during winter, you might be a bit fair-weather player when the mercury drops too much. But for avid or hard-core golfers there comes a time you (and a friend or two) may just get the itch to play when the sun is shining, wind has subsided, and temperature is bearable. Here are five tips to playing golf in wintry weather.
Dress Appropriately
Layer up (i.e., jacket, mid layer, and base layer) with thinner clothing. This is better than wearing something bulky that can restrict your swing. But do not have too many layers you look like little Randy in the movie the Christmas Story.

3 proposed USGA changes
In case you missed it this week, the ruling bodies of golf (the USGA and R&A) reached out to manufacturers for feedback and research to 3 proposed changes to current Equipment Standards. These are the three proposals in short:
Club length
The first proposal is to make available a Model Local Rule (MLR) for Committees that will permit them to limit the maximum length of clubs (other than putters) to 46 inches. The measurement technique will remain as defined within the Equipment Rules and an appropriate accommodation will be made to ensure the fidelity of that measurement. It is currently being contemplated that this MLR, like other equipment related local rules would be recommended for use only in competitions limited to highly skilled players (that is, professional and elite amateur competitions).

Prepare for Longer Lead Times When Ordering (updated July 2021)
Many of you have contacted us and asked why so many products seem to be backordered or when do you expect a certain product to arrive. We all are aware that this year has been extraordinary in many ways. Let us briefly explain what has led up to the current shortage of products, not just for Hireko, but for golf companies industrywide.
For the foundries overseas, the slowest time of year starts in late May and extends all the way into early October. However, the pandemic changed this typical manufacturing pattern. Starting in March until the early part of July, very few orders trickled in for golf goods as there were lockdowns and uncertainty in the market due to the novel coronavirus.

What's New?
We are excited to announce the launch of our new website, which is now live. This is just not a refresh of our old site you were familiar with, but a brand-new platform to make it easier to navigate, shop and find important information. What is new?
Improved navigation
The left-hand navigation panel will have more filters to find things more quickly. While you always have been able to sort for thinks like brand or item type, we expanded the filters to include things like shaft weight range, ferrule height, tee height, etc. We made the color filter visual so you can quickly see the color option available and other attributes for each product immediately. Lastly, we consolidated items, so you have less pages to sort through.
